And just like that, another Medicine, Podiatry & Economics (MPE) Conference is in the books!

From August 28–30, 2026, we took over Rivers Casino in Des Plaines for three days filled with education, new ideas, great conversations, and, of course, a whole lot of podiatry. If you joined us bright and early for those 8:00 AM lectures… we hope the coffee did its job!

This year’s MPE brought together physicians, podiatrists, healthcare professionals, industry leaders, and exhibitors to learn about what’s happening now—and what’s coming next—in medicine and podiatry.

And we covered a lot.

From peptides, regenerative medicine, MIS, ultrasound, biologics, and surgical techniques to coding, audits, practice growth, technology, leadership, and economics, there was truly something for everyone. Because apparently treating patients isn’t enough—we also need to know how to run a business, understand coding, manage a team, keep up with technology, AND somehow make it home for dinner.

Our Speakers Brought Their A-Game

We were lucky to have an incredible group of speakers join us throughout the weekend, including Dr. Joanne Balkaran, Dr. Michael Warshaw, and Dr. Brandon Blanken.

Joanne Balkaran, DPM took us into the world of peptides with presentations on Peptides & BPC-157 and Mitochondrial Peptides. Peptides were definitely a popular topic at this year’s MPE—and judging by the conversations happening outside the lecture room, we have a feeling we haven’t heard the last of them.

Then there was Michael Warshaw, DPM, who tackled everyone’s favorite topic: coding and audits! (We can already feel the excitement.)

Dr. Warshaw covered upcoming potential audits involving E/M services and Modifier 25, how practices can prepare for and survive an audit, and foot and ankle procedure coding. Maybe not the topics that keep you awake because you’re excited…but definitely the ones that can keep you awake if you don’t know them.

Brandon Blanken, DPM joined us on Sunday and dove into several advanced clinical and surgical topics, including hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), MIS techniques for insertional Achilles tendinopathy, and primary ankle fusion for high-risk and geriatric ankle trauma.

And those were just a few of the speakers who helped make this year’s MPE such a great educational experience.

Medicine + Podiatry + Economics

There is a reason we call it the Medicine, Podiatry & Economics Conference.

Being a great physician today goes beyond what happens in the treatment room. Throughout the weekend, our speakers covered everything from new clinical techniques and technologies to building a stronger team, improving the patient experience, growing a practice, navigating compliance, and understanding the economics behind medicine.

We talked about the future of podiatry, technology and population health, office-based procedures, regenerative medicine, practice culture, new-patient growth, coding, MIS, photobiomodulation, whole-body vibration, biologic cushioning, and much more.

Basically, if it could help you become a better physician or build a better practice, we probably talked about it.

The Best Part? Bringing Everyone Together.

As much as we love the lectures (and we really do!), one of our favorite parts of MPE is seeing everyone together.

Between sessions, exhibit hours, lunches, and conversations throughout the weekend, attendees had the chance to catch up with old friends, meet new colleagues, talk with our exhibitors and sponsors, and share ideas with other people in the profession.

Conferences are about education, but sometimes the conversation you have in the hallway between lectures can be just as valuable as the lecture itself.

That is what we want MPE to be—a place where the podiatric community can learn, connect, ask questions, discover something new, and have a little fun while doing it.
