ACPPS and the American Podiatric Board of Functional and Regenerative Medicine Partner to Advance Board Certification
The American College of Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons (ACPPS) and the American Podiatric Board of Functional and Regenerative Medicine (APBFRM) today announced a strategic collaboration designed to provide podiatrists with a clear pathway toward board certification in regenerative and functional medicine.
As regenerative medicine becomes the future of podiatry, board certification is the next essential step for every forward-thinking practitioner. Distinguish your practice, validate your expertise, and lead the profession forward.
Chicago, IL – July 27, 2026 — The American College of Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons (ACPPS) and the American Podiatric Board of Functional and Regenerative Medicine (APBFRM) today announced a strategic collaboration designed to provide podiatrists with a clear pathway toward board certification in regenerative and functional medicine.
APBFRM was created specifically for podiatric physicians and is the only board dedicated to functional and regenerative medicine within the field of podiatry. This partnership supports physician education, clinical excellence, and the confident integration of these innovative therapies into everyday practice.
A Message from Dr. Thuy Ho-Ellsworth, President of APBFRM
"I've always believed that medicine should continue to evolve. We owe it to our patients to embrace emerging therapies responsibly while continually raising the standard of care.
That's why we created the American Board of Podiatric Functional and Regenerative Medicine. This isn't about adding another credential. It's about establishing a meaningful standard for physicians committed to functional and regenerative medicine with integrity, sound clinical judgment, and a patient-first mindset.
Board certification should represent more than what you've learned. It should reflect how you think.
I am proud to partner with ACPPS as we help shape the future of podiatry by advancing education, competency, and excellence in patient care." — Dr. Thuy Ho-Ellsworth, President of APBFRM
